Denham Receives Awards For Work On Healthcare

U.S. Representative Jeff Denham (R-Turlock) has championed commonsense healthcare reforms to expand access to care in the Central Valley and last week was awarded with three separate awards recognizing his work in this area: the Central Valley Health Network's 2018 "Champion Award," National Association of Community Health Centers' "Distinguished Community Health Advocate" award and the Golden Valley Health Center "Champion of Healthcare" award.

Emergency Preparedness Drills Scheduled In Sonoma, Sacramento

In recent months, California and the nation have been no strangers to devastating natural and man-made emergencies. This week, the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) will join with the California National Guard's Homeland Response Force (HRF) and 95th Civil Support Team, along with multiple State/Federal Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces, CAL FIRE, FBI, the Department of Energy, and several other elite emergency response agencies for a full-scale terrorism and active-shooter response exercise at Sacramento's Sleep Train Arena and Sonoma Raceway.

California Drivers See Gas Prices Rising

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have risen 3.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.21/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has increased 2.5 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.54/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
