Naval Academy Nomination Provided For OHS Senior Hill

U.S. Representative Jeff Denham has named Oakdale High School senior Sophia Hill as one of the 2016 service academy nominees from California's 10th congressional district. Rep. Denham nominated 25 students from cities across the district to four of the nation's prestigious military academies.

HOLIDAY PARADE

Though the weather was, literally, freezing, the annual Holiday Light Parade went off as scheduled Saturday evening in Valley Home. Scott Sachau, left, 5; Audie Beltrami, 1; and 18-month-old Emmit Caudle wheeled their wagon in to bring hot chocolate and candy canes to warm the hearts of parade watchers. Santa and Mrs. Claus waved to the crowd from their spot in the parade. The evening also featured a potluck dinner, the lighting of the community Christmas tree and the singing of carols in front of a live Nativity scene in the community park
