On Friday, Dec. 23, Oakdale Police School Resource Officer Dan Taylor along with seven Oakdale Police explorers delivered Christmas gifts in the city. Taylor and Les Schwab Tires of Oakdale had a gift giving tree program where names were pulled representing the wishes and needs of children who were students of Oakdale schools. Anonymous citizens purchased the gifts, including some bicycles, resulting in 20 presents delivered throughout Oakdale.

At the same time, through Almond Board of California (ABC), almond farmers lead the charge to accelerate research on sustainability topics, such as water management and air quality.
