Oakdale Police Ready For Busy Rodeo Week

As Oakdale's beloved rodeo week activities hit full stride, local law enforcement professionals are stepping up their coverage in an effort to insure those in attendance have a great time and go home in one piece. According to Oakdale Police Chief Scott Heller, while the event is expected to increase the city's population by 50 percent, police and safety crews will match that increase.

State Gas Prices Higher Than National Average

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have risen 0.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.78/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has increased 4.3 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.32/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
