Recognition Program Honors UPS Drivers For Safety

UPS, United Parcel Service, recently announced that 172 elite drivers from California are among 1,575 newly inducted worldwide into the Circle of Honor, an honorary organization for UPS drivers who have achieved 25 or more years of accident-free driving.

County Fairgrounds Opens As Storm Shelter

The American Red Cross will relocate its current shelter in Patterson to the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds Turf Club building on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. This move is being done to allow for more capacity, if needed as another storm approaches Stanislaus County.

Woman Facing Child Cruelty, Drug Charges

An Oakdale woman remains jailed on $50,000 bail after a trip to the emergency room on Wednesday, Feb. 15 resulted in her arrest. Tenessa Michelle Price, 28, of Oakdale was arrested after her one-year-old son was believed to have methamphetamine in system.

OHS Winter Homecoming Royalty Crowned

It was a festive night on the court in the Oakdale High School gym on Friday, Feb. 10. Not only was it Senior Night for the boys basketball program, it was also Winter Homecoming. Seniors were recognized for their contributions and the new Queen, King, Princess and Prince were crowned before a big, loud crowd on hand for the festivities. Area Art Galleries Seek Show Entries

Entries are now being accepted for the Central California Art Showcase taking place at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock and the Mistlin Gallery in Modesto. The exhibition is a unique collaboration between the region's two premier visual arts galleries celebrating artistic excellence. Both galleries will be exhibiting works selected by a single panel of judges.

Donut Drive-Through

Astoria Senior Living in Oakdale is hosting a 'Spreading the Love' event with a Drive-Through Donut Drive on Friday, Feb. 17. Hours are 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the drive-through will be hosted at Astoria Senior Living, 700 Laurel Ave., Oakdale. Just drive up for free donuts and coffee or milk. Free will donations will be taken and all proceeds will go to the Alzheimer's Association. All ages welcome to attend.
