Veggie Fest Helps Local Families “Refresh Better”

Stanislaus County residents joined together to kick the sugary-drink habit, and instead, refresh better with water during a special celebration created by the Stanislaus County Health Services Agency's (SCHSA) Nutrition Education & Obesity Prevention (NEOP) program and Champions for Change as part of the statewide Be Better campaign. Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center Schedules Baby Animal Shower

The Stanislaus Wildlife Care Center celebrates spring with its annual Baby Animal Shower. Come see some of their educational animals up close and personal. Baby animals in rehab will not be displayed. There will be games, cookies and punch, face painting, T-shirts for sale, and crafts for kids. There is no admission charge, but a list of suggested gifts is on the website: StanislausWildlife.org. The shower is Saturday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wildlife Center inside Fox Grove Fishing Access, 1220 Geer Road, Hughson.

Concert In Ripon May 20

An Armed Forces Day Concert is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 7 p.m. at Ripon Christian High School Performing Arts Center, 435 Maple Ave., Ripon. Voices for the King, a male chorus, will perform inspirational and patriotic music in recognition of national armed service members, local law enforcement and fire department members along with a color guard presentation. Car Show Success For Vets

The cars began rolling in to the 50's Roadhouse in Knights Ferry early Saturday morning for the third annual Car and Motorcycle show hosted by American Veterans First proprietor, Duke Cooper. The car show began at 10 a.m. and had over 200 guests canvassing the event throughout the day viewing the marvelous treasures from the 30's, 40's, 50s, 60s, and 70s.
