Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have risen 9.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.56 per gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has increased 5.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.04/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Stanislaus Presentation Day was held at the Stanislaus County Ag Center on Saturday March 12. Six Orange Blossom 4-H members from Leader, Joyce Reed's Public Speaking project participated in the competition. All members chose the type of speech they gave, and have been preparing and practicing since the fall. All members who participated were awarded gold awards, the highest honor at the county level for this event.
