Memorial Service Honors Fallen Caltrans Employees

At its 26th Annual Workers Memorial on May 4 at the State Capitol, Caltrans honored 184 employees who have lost their lives on the job since 1921. This solemn event honors the legacies of those who gave their lives to build, maintain and keep California's transportation system safe, and unfortunately adds yet another Caltrans employee to those killed while on the job.

Parents, students and community members alike took advantage of a perfect spring evening recently by attending the Cloverland Elementary School's Annual Family Fun Night. The Parent Teacher Club-sponsored event hosted a number of family friendly activities including a train ride, face painting, games and food. Fair Oaks had planned an event as well, but had to postpone due to the unseasonable rain on Friday.

The Rules Committee is considered one of the most influential assignments in the Senate, and as such, selection to it must be confirmed by the entire Senate. Berryhill represents Oakdale in the state's 8th Senate District.

Fred Yerzy and Rachel Torres took a little time away from the classroom in mid-April. The break, however, was not the traditional Spring Break enjoyed districtwide. This break wasn't exactly away from the classroom, either. The classroom became the outdoors and the 'break' came in the way of Foothill Horizons Sixth Grade outdoor education camp.
