Grant Increases Benefit College-Bound Students

The Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) will receive a significant scholarship grant in 2016 from the College Futures Foundation to continue investing in local college-bound students. This grant totals $500,000 and is the sixth and final scholarship grant award provided to SCOE, with the first beginning in 2010.This brings the total funds awarded from the College Futures Foundation to SCOE since 2010 to $2,339,500.

California Motorists See Holiday Gas Price Hikes

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have risen 5.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.48/gallon Sunday, Dec. 27 according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has not moved in the last week to $2.00/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
