CHP Receives Federal Funds For DUI Crackdown

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has announced receiving a federal "Reducing Impaired Driving" grant, which will fund 150 sobriety checkpoints, 75 DUI task force operations, proactive DUI enforcement patrols through Sept. 30, 2015, and at least 100 safety presentations.

The 14-year-old will be boarding a plane on the evening of Thursday, Nov. 20, but she will not be headed for a tropical family vacation. Hope will be boarding a red eye flight out of Sacramento with a final destination of New York City.

CHP Continues Distracted Driving Campaign Crackdown

In response to this growing incidence of distracted driving, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has launched a yearlong, Adult Distracted Driving traffic safety campaign in partnership with the Office of Traffic Safety and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A minimum of 80 distracted driving enforcement operations and at least 500 traffic safety presentations will be completed statewide by the end of September 2015.
