Love, Shelter Pets Soar With Wings Of Rescue

During July, an organization called 'Wings of Rescue' picked up several dogs from the Oakdale Animal Shelter and transported them to Washington. They were flown in a plane with a logo stating "love is in the air" on it to find permanent homes for these furry four legged pets.

State’s Dairy Farmers Seek Financial Relief

Volunteers gather once a month at the Stanislaus River bridge on North Yosemite Avenue for a clean-up effort and here are shown loading up some debris and garbage cleared away on a previous outing. A rapidly moving grass fire threatened Knights Ferry homes on Saturday, July 30, reported after an assisting unit on an unrelated incident spotted the blaze on Frymire Road along the Stanislaus River near the Tuolumne and Stanislaus County line.
