A seasonal sight, the Girls Scouts are now out and about selling their tasty, traditional Girl Scout cookies this spring. Here, members of Troop 4082, which meets in Oakdale, set up shop outside Starbuck's on East F Street on Saturday and were doing a brisk business. Shown, from left, are Olivia Jimenez, Ashley Tran, Ava Voorhies and Naya Morua. Nine different varieties of cookies are available, from the favorite Thin Mints to a new S'mores variety.

Science Fair Sees Project Increase

OHS Earns Regional Science Olympiad Win

A total of 20 teams from 15 county high schools competed on Saturday, March 4 at the 2017 Stanislaus County Regional Science Olympiad and Oakdale was among those rising to the top. Oakdale High School Gold Team came home Division C Champions. The OHS Gold Team will now advance to the Northern California (NorCal) Science Olympiad event scheduled for Saturday, April 1 at CSU Stanislaus.

American AgCredit Outlines 2016 Strong Financial Growth

American AgCredit, the nation's fifth largest agricultural lending cooperative, this week announced a net income of $104.5 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 2016, along with a cash dividend distribution of $50.2 million to its shareholders. This compares to a net income of $99.7 million and a cash dividend of $43.5 million for the prior year. American AgCredit has returned more than $350 million to its customer-owners since 2005.

Final Five Profiled - kicker New Distinguished Young Woman To Be Selected Saturday

The annual Distinguished Young Women of Oakdale program is scheduled for this Saturday, March 11, at 7 p.m. at the Magnolia School Auditorium. Soroptimist International of Oakdale has sponsored the program for the past 29 years. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children and students and may be purchased at the event. The doors will open for tickets and seating at 6:30 p.m.
