Goin’ Fishing A Hit With City Kids

A group of disadvantaged youth with the Stanislaus County Police Athletic League traveled to the Horseshoe Recreation area on Orange Blossom Road in Oakdale to participate in the seventh annual Fish Day hosted by the Knights Ferry Army Corp of Engineers on Saturday, May 7.

Amgen Tour Whooshes Through Oakdale

The Oakdale community came out Tuesday, May 17 to celebrate the Amgen Tour of California bicycle event as hundreds of riders whooshed through the heart of town in a fast and furious bid to reach the sprint line finish (a special award would be given to the rider who crossed first during this leg of the race). The local Amgen Bike Race Volunteer Training and Coordination meeting will be held in the auditorium at Magnolia School, Tuesday, May 10 at 6 p.m. Anyone planning to participate as a volunteer is urged to attend this meeting.

Council Approves $10K For Sales Tax Survey

A Beautiful Day At Citizen’s Cemetery

Beautiful Day, a ministry of Living Hope Christian Fellowship is back. Citizen's Cemetery is in need of some tender loving care again. Last year, nearly 150 people entered through the gates of the cemetery and did not leave until the entire cemetery was well-groomed. There were rakes, shovels, hand tools, weed whackers, power washers, mowers of all sizes, paint sprayers and brushes, all flying in every direction. Many hands delicately washed the head stones.
