Stanislaus County Music Festival Set

Community members are invited to attend the Stanislaus County Music Festival on Friday, Jan. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Modesto Junior College Auditorium. The festival kicks off at 7 p.m. on Friday with the high school and junior high school Honor Choir. At 2 p.m. on Saturday, the high school and junior high school Honor Orchestra will perform, with the festival concluding Saturday evening with the high school and junior high school Honor Band performing at 7 p.m. There is no charge for admission.

Sunrise Rotary Plans Inaugural ‘Boots And Bows’

Fathers, grandfathers, uncles and brothers may want to take note of an inaugural date taking shape. On Friday, Feb. 9 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Oakdale Sunrise Rotary plans to live it up the Gene Bianchi Community Center for Boots and Bows, a community wide Father/Daughter Dance.

Two ‘Wear Red’ Event Deadlines Approaching

Doctors Medical Center, Emanuel Medical Center and Doctors Hospital of Manteca are hosting two Glow Red events on Friday, Feb. 2, as part of National Wear Red Day, to raise awareness of heart disease in women. The events will feature cooking demonstrations by Celebrity Chef, TV Personality and Cookbook Author, Daniel Green. County’s Youth Mentoring Program Marks Anniversary

The Stanislaus County Mentoring program was initially approved as a pilot on Sept. 29, 1998 becoming a program on Jan. 1, 1999. Now celebrating the completion of year 19, the program continues to attract County employees and partner agencies/organizations who wish to give back and become involved in the lives of young people in Stanislaus County. In 1999, the first full year of implementation, 30 Stanislaus County employees started mentoring.

Spaghetti Supper
