Mustangs Will Play NorCal Bowl Game

The 2014 CIF Sac-Joaquin Division III Section Champions, the Oakdale High School Mustangs, received notification Sunday that they will also take part in the CIF NorCal Division II 2014 Regional Football Championship Bowl Game. The Mustangs (13-1, 6-1) will travel to Concord to take on the Ugly Eagles of Clayton Valley Charter (14-0, 5-0).

Crews Rescue Horse From Oakdale Pond

Early morning Thursday, Dec. 4, Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District (SCFPD) firefighters were dispatched to the 13000 block of Horseshoe Road in Oakdale for a horse in a pond that needed rescuing. Upon arrival, SCFPD firefighters requested additional assistance from Modesto Fire Department and within about an hour, they rescued Sassy, the 24-year-old horse, from the cold water.
