After last year's "tie" during the Homecoming Week Powder Puff game, this year's senior group wanted to make sure there was not any question about the outcome. Wednesday night in The Corral the senior girls defeated the junior squad 28-6 in the 2017 OHS Powder Puff game.

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have fallen 2.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.90/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has fallen 6.0 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.47/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Oakdale Police issued a Friday afternoon advisory, Oct. 6, that due to a traffic accident involving a power pole the roadway at East G Street and South Fifth Avenue, northbound and southbound Sixth Avenue and eastbound G at Grove Street was closed. Police and emergency services personnel were called to the scene about 1:30 p.m. Friday; PG&E crews also responded to deal with the damaged power pole.
