Comedy Night Appearance Set By Rocky LaPorte In Patterson

From NBC's Last Comic Standing, Chicago comedian Rocky LaPorte is slated to bring his everyman, streetwise style of comedy to the third installment of H.O.S.T. (Helping Others Sleep Tonight) House Comedy Night on Friday, May 19 at 8 p.m. in Patterson. The star of the Showtime comedy special 'The Godfathers of Comedy' delivers laughs in his trademark Brooklyn accent and has become one of the most sought after comedians in the country.

Concert In Ripon May 20

An Armed Forces Day Concert is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 7 p.m. at Ripon Christian High School Performing Arts Center, 435 Maple Ave., Ripon. Voices for the King, a male chorus, will perform inspirational and patriotic music in recognition of national armed service members, local law enforcement and fire department members along with a color guard presentation. This concert is free.

Car Show Success For Vets

The cars began rolling in to the 50's Roadhouse in Knights Ferry early Saturday morning for the third annual Car and Motorcycle show hosted by American Veterans First proprietor, Duke Cooper. The car show began at 10 a.m. and had over 200 guests canvassing the event throughout the day viewing the marvelous treasures from the 30's, 40's, 50s, 60s, and 70s.

Levy Brings Artwork To The MJC Gallery

The Modesto Junior College Department of Art presents "A Mother's Tears" art show featuring the paintings of Susan Levy and dedicated to the memory of her daughter Chandra Levy. The show opens on Monday, May 15 and runs through Thursday, June 1 in the MJC Art Gallery on the East Campus, 435 College Ave., Modesto. The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday and admission is free.
