Basically bursting at the seams, the Oakdale Animal Shelter will be the subject of an upcoming needs assessment to determine what size of building they should have to meet future needs and what kind of costs would be incurred. Road Construction Continues on Oakdale Streets

Work crews have been out in force around Oakdale the last couple of weeks as part of a wide-ranging water line replacement project. Monday morning, the crews had part of West G Street blocked off as they continued the work, prompting a detour around the project area. The brief road closures have been scattered all around the downtown area and motorists are advised to be prepared for the occasional detours and traffic tie ups as the water line work continues.

The Knights Ferry Civil War Days event, put on by the American Civil War Association, takes place on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Knights Ferry covered bridge area. Battle times on Saturday are at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Battle times on Sunday are at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
