Market Gears Up For Summer Run

The Oakdale Farmers Market is seeing a few changes this year. In addition to moving the Market to Wednesday nights and extending the hours just a bit, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., visitors will notice a huge change when they visit. The closure of E Street will allow market goers to safely browse all that the market has to offer. With this small closure it allowed organizers to move things around and get produce stands and other food offerings out of the sun.

A multi-alarm fire on Mahon Avenue in Escalon early Thursday afternoon saw response from Oakdale Rural, Stanislaus Consolidated, Ripon and Farmington fire department personnel in addition to the Escalon crews. A large workshop and adjoining home were extensively damaged and several trees surrounding the property were damaged by the flames.
