City And Garden Club Partner In Adopt-A-Pot

The cold and much-needed rainy weather has brought a few dreary days to Oakdale in this New Year of 2017. But the colorless days of winter are being brightened by the Downtown Oakdale Adopt-A-Pot Project, a partnership involving merchants on F Street between Yosemite Avenue and First Street, the City of Oakdale and the Oakdale Garden Club.

Olive Oil Competition Entries Being Sought

The third annual San Joaquin Valley Olive Oil Competition (SJVOOC) is now accepting entries from all olive oil producers in the State of California. To qualify for the opportunity to showcase their flavorful products, olive oil must be made from the most recent olive harvest; deadline to enter is March 24, 2017.

Long Term Trend Shows Gas Prices On The Rise

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have fallen 2.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.62/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.2 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.30/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Open House Set At Astoria Center

After more than a year of construction and renovation, Astoria Senior Living can now accommodate 45 seniors who need assisted living or memory care in the Oakdale area. Located at 700 Laurel Avenue, Astoria Senior Living remained open and served as many as 18 residents throughout the process.

Council To Hold Hearing On Water-Sewer Increase

Local Students In County Music Festival

Community members are invited to attend the Stanislaus County Music Festival on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Modesto Junior College Auditorium. The festival kicks off at 7 p.m. on Friday with the high school and junior high school Honor Choir. At 2 p.m. on Saturday, the high school and junior high school Honor Orchestra will perform, with the festival concluding Saturday evening with the high school and junior high school Honor Band performing at 7 p.m. There is no charge for admission.
