FEC Complaint Filed Against Congressional Candidate Eggman

The Foundation for Accountability & Civic Trust (FACT), a political watchdog group out of Washington DC, has filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission requesting an investigation into 10th District congressional democrat candidate Michael Eggman and his campaign for what appears to be a "straw donation" made within his campaign.

Jenkins Takes Off Department Badge

In 1990, a 32-year-old Lester Jenkins hit the streets of Oakdale after working in a manufacturing plant for Proctor and Gamble. While in training, his eyes would be opened up to the challenges and hazards of law enforcement when his training officer found a gun in the purse of a woman they had stopped in the parking lot of 7-11.

Stanislaus County Appoints Behavioral Health Director

The Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors appointed Richard DeGette as the new Behavioral Health Director on Tuesday, July 19. Mr. DeGette will succeed current Director, Madelyn Schlaepfer, who is retiring after 24 years of dedicated service to the community.

YES Company Production Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Stanislaus County Office of Education's YES (Youth Entertainment Stage) Company is producing the classic musical "Les Misérables, School Edition" to be performed at the Gallo Center for the Arts in Modesto. Tickets are now on sale at the Gallo Center for the Arts box office and online at www.galloarts.org. Now in its final week, remaining performances are July 28 and 29 at 7:30 p.m. and July 30 and 31 at 3 p.m.

It was another large crowd for the Friday night Concert in the Park on July 22 in Oakdale as Mark Macsenti and the Tailights band performed at the gazebo in Dorada Park.
