The U.S. Congress has designated the second full week of April of each year as National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Stanislaus River Levels Rising

Water levels on the Stanislaus River began increasing on April 1 for required spring fish flows. Information provided by the Oakdale Irrigation District shows that releases from Goodwin Dam have increased daily, starting at 300 CFS (cubic feet per second) on April 1 and rising to 1,250 CFS today, Wednesday, April 4. The river will continue to rise and peak at 2,000 CFS by Saturday, April 7.

Council Kept Out Of Loop On FAA Complaint

Despite airport items on recent agendas, the Oakdale Mayor and City Council claim they were not advised of an April complaint letter from the Federal Aviation Administration and the city's May 5 response letter. Some of the agenda items approved by the council even included a quarterly street sweeping contract and $16,000 lighting upgrade to bring the airport up to standards addressed in the complaint.

FAA Investigating Complaints About Airport

The Federal Aviation Administration San Francisco Airports District Office has informed the City of Oakdale it has received complaints that the Laughlin Road airport may be violating portions of its grants assurances sections as it applies to the condition and operation of the facility.
