Tuesday Forum For OID Candidates

The League of Women Voters of Stanislaus County is sponsoring a forum for candidates running for the office of Board of Directors of the Oakdale Irrigation District. The Forum will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale. Glenn ‘Bachi’ Bacigalupi, Family Patriarch, Passes At 87

Oakdale's Glenn Bacigalupi, who, along with his family, was honored earlier this year by the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce with their Lifetime Achievement Award, passed away at age 87 Saturday, Sept. 26 in the late afternoon, his son Michael reported.

Analysts See Price Drops Continuing At Gas Pumps

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have fallen 7.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.72/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has fallen 3.7 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.29/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
