Transient Issue Concerns Surface

Since the clean up along the Stanislaus River corridor near Costless Market and Kerr Park, complaints have increased regarding the transient population invading local parks, most notably Dorada Park, as they search for new places to inhabit.

Lions Club Honoring Military Personnel

The first two banners bearing the names and branches of service of service people from the local Oakdale area 95361 zip code have been placed on the light poles in the SaveMart Shopping Center at the corner of East F Street and Maag Avenue in Oakdale. Members of the Oakdale Lions Club and the parents of Sean Gage and Clay Kassahn were on hand as the banners were installed.

Fundraiser Slated For Shelter Project

The nonprofit Shelter Pet Alliance is hosting a fundraiser reception to help build a dog exercise park at the Oakdale City Animal Shelter. The reception is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 891 Reinman Court in Oakdale. Donations will be accepted at the door.

OID Approves October Water

At the Sept. 15 regular meeting, the Oakdale Irrigation District Board of Directors approved the ending of the 2009 irrigation season to be on Sept. 30, on the 14th day of Rotation 16 and to start the 2010 irrigation season by having an October irrigation made available. The October irrigation will be a 10-day rotation, ending at midnight on Oct. 10. All waters delivered after Sept. 30 are charged to the 2010 season.
