Rhys Ludlow is an eight-year-old second grader that will be having a 'Dog Gone Good Lemonade Stand' at Sierra View Elementary School on Saturday, May 18 from noon to dusk … or until he no longer has lemonade. This lemonade stand is not only to participate in National Lemonade Day but also to raise funds for a good cause.

Stanislaus County fire officials are preparing for the upcoming fire season by conducting a regional training on May 9th-14th, 2013 at Modesto Reservoir. The Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District, Ceres Fire Department, Oakdale Fire Department and Modesto Regional Fire Authority are managing this regional training. The primary goal of the exercise is to meet the minimum annual training mandates for firefighters participating in regional firefighting efforts.
