Team Raises Funds For Relay For Life

Magnolia Elementary School Principal Julie Minabe recently did her best impression of a farmer by dressing up in overalls and a straw hat. Putting on a show for her students on March 26, she then put on lipstick and prepared herself to kiss a pig in the school courtyard for a cause.

Small Town Event Draws Study For Cancer Research

This April, the American Cancer Society will offer a unique and potentially life-changing opportunity to the tri-city area. On Saturday, April 24 the non-profit organization will host Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3). Pedestrian Struck, Killed On F Street

A 48-year-old Oakdale man was struck by a truck while crossing West F Street in the 1100 block on Saturday, March 6 around 8:15 p.m. He suffered major injuries and later died at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.

The man, identified as Michael Harrell, was not in a crosswalk when the accident occurred and preliminary tests revealed a very high BAC (blood alcohol content) limit, said police. The man had a history of alcohol abuse, according to police.
