Wine Booth Returns To Escalon Park Fete

Escalon Parks Foundation will host a wine booth at this year's Park Fete July 12 and 13 in downtown Escalon. Last year's wine booth was a new offering at Park Fete and well received by attendees. The booth will be serving red and white wine donated by Gallo Family Vineyards. Drink tokens will be $5 each and redeemable for beer or wine. Token sales close at 9:30 p.m. each day.

Auto Tech Class Starts Soon

The Columbia College Automotive Technology Program's five week Team Managed Projects class will begin on Monday, July 15. This course is designed to strengthen problem solving skills through teamwork and by using the total quality management (TQM) process. Problem solving is an everyday event. The TQM process allows for thoughtful decision making for just about any problem and by anyone. All skills levels come together to engage in this dynamic process. Projects are automotive based. Oakdale Grocery Outlet Helps Fight Local Hunger

Hunger is a reality for over 50 million Americans, or one in seven people living in the United States. To create awareness of this issue and help their neighbors in need, the Oakdale Grocery Outlet store is kicking off of the third annual Independence from Hunger food drive, a month-long, company-wide campaign. Together Oakdale Grocery Outlet and their customers can help to feed people in Oakdale facing hunger and dealing with food insecurity. Over the past two years, over $500,000 has been raised in cash, gift cards and food donations company-wide towards this effort.

Filing Period For November Election

Lee Lundrigan, Stanislaus County Clerk Recorder and Registrar of Voters reports candidates interested in running for local office during the Nov. 5, 2013 Consolidated District Election may apply during the filing period which will open and run from Monday, July 15 through Friday, Aug. 9, 2013. Candidates, including incumbents must file nomination documents during this period in order to file for office and appear on the ballot.
