Council Vote: Remove Meyer Park Port-A-Potty

After a $700 bill for the damage to replace the city-supplied port-a-potty at William Meyer Park, the Oakdale City Council on Tuesday night, Sept. 8, voted to remove the toilet that was provided as a courtesy to the homeless that frequent the area.

Saturday River Clean Up Effort

On Saturday, Sept. 19, the Bureau of Reclamation's Central California Area Office is partnering with the University of California Cooperative Extension to organize the 2015 Great Sierra River Cleanup in Tuolumne County and southern Calaveras County. The cleanup will focus on sites around New Melones Lake in the Stanislaus River watershed as declining water levels expose trash and debris.

International Festival Returns Sunday

Sunday, Sept. 13 won't be a day of 'service as usual' for St. Mary's Catholic Church and its parishioners. The church at 1225 Olive St., Oakdale, will host its annual International Festival this coming Sunday. A pasta dinner will be hosted Saturday night to kick off the following day's event.
