Caltrans Memorial Honors Fallen Highway Workers

At its 24th Annual Workers Memorial at the State Capitol on May 1, Caltrans honored 183 employees who have lost their lives on the job. The solemn event comes about one year after two Caltrans employees were killed by a rockslide while working to protect the traveling public.

The search to lead the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Protection District ended when the district's board voted 4-0 and announced the appointment of its new fire chief, Randall Bradley, at its April 10 meeting. He will be paid $157,000 per year to lead the department.

November Initiative - City Wants Tax On Ballot
