Volunteer For Natural Bridges Cleanup, Trail Restoration

In celebration of National Public Lands Day and the annual Great Sierra River Cleanup, the Bureau of Reclamation's Central California Area Office will partner with the Tuolumne Resource Conservation District to host a recreation area cleanup and trail restoration event at New Melones Lake's Natural Bridges Recreation Area this Saturday, Sept. 15, from 9a.m. to 2p.m.

Patterson Man Awaiting Lifesaving Transplant

In 2010, while on vacation, Arthur Lopez, 53, began experiencing swelling and extreme fatigue. Upon returning home, he visited his doctor and was shocked to be diagnosed with stage-four nonalcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. Doctors say a liver transplant is essential to his survival, and he has been on the transplant waiting list for more than a year.

City Response Agrees With Grand Jury Finding

In a very brief and to-the-point response drafted by City Attorney Tom Hallinan, the City of Oakdale will notify the Stanislaus County Grand Jury that it agrees with the four findings and all four recommendations from a report that criticized the actions of former councilman Jason Howard.

OID Crews Wrapping Riverbed Restoration

Working in conjunction to reestablish salmon spawning and juvenile salmon rearing areas to the Stanislaus River at Honolulu Bar, Oakdale Irrigation District, FishBio, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Anadromous Fish Restoration Program (AFRP) have put in about $520,000 of shared cost into the habitat restoration project. OID and AFRP split the cost 50/50.

The CHP Urges Safe Driving Over Labor Day Weekend
