Caltrans, Government Officials Celebrate Highway Projects

Caltrans and the San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) will recognize significant milestones on State Route 12 (SR-12) including: completion of the $20.5 million smart corridor and operational improvements project from just east of Interstate 5 to the Rio Vista Bridge; the kick-off for the $46.7 million Bouldin Island Rehabilitation Project; and the ceremonial unveiling of a sign designating a portion of SR-12 as the Dana Cowell Memorial highway. The celebration is planned for this Friday, Sept. 27 starting at 11 a.m. at the Tower Park Marina in Lodi.

The agriculture industry is a huge part of the Central Valley economy and most of the residents in this area know when summer is coming to an end due to the machines rumbling along the rows in an orchard and stirring up (more than) a little dust.
