National Day Of The American Cowboy Celebrated

Put your cowboy boots and hats on and show your support for "The Cowboy Capital of the World" as Oakdale will be celebrating the 7th Annual National Day of the American Cowboy at the Oakdale Cowboy Museum on Saturday, July 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

County Fair Welcomes Visitors

West Nile Confirmed

The Turlock Mosquito Abatement District and Public Health Officials received notification that three mosquito samples taken in the Turlock area on July 8 were positive with the West Nile Virus (WNV), indicating that West Nile Virus (WNV) is active in Stanislaus County.

Oakdale Appoints Interim Manager

The appointment of Oakdale's new part-time interim city manager, who will start Aug. 1, was announced at the Oakdale City Council meeting Monday night, July 18. Gregory Wellman retired last year after more than four decades in the public sector.

Local FFA, 4-H Members Ready For Fair

Members of Oakdale's FFA and 4-H clubs are preparing their animals and getting other projects ready to exhibit at the Stanislaus County Fair, July 15-24. Oakdale will be represented with a large contingent of breeding and market livestock, as well as numerous building exhibits such as sewing and photography.

Some local exhibitors will also show their animals at California State Fair, which starts July 14, overlapping with the county fair.
