The Stanislaus Sheriff's Department is offering a new app for iPhone and Android smart phone users that will notify crime victims of changes in the custody status of criminal offenders.

New Melones Concession Open House Slated

The Bureau of Reclamation has released for public review and comment the Draft Environmental Assessment for the New Melones Lake Concession Development. Located in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties, New Melones Lake is operated by Reclamation for multiple purposes including flood control, irrigation and municipal water supplies, hydroelectric production, water quality, fish and wildlife enhancement and recreation.

Stolen Bus Lands In Oakdale

Covering about 100 miles altogether, a spike strip put down by the California Highway Patrol at the main intersection in Escalon didn't stop a stolen AC Transit bus there … but it did enough damage to the tires to force the driver to go off the roadway just before reaching Oakdale.

Donations Being Sought For National Night Out

Tuesday, Aug. 6 will be observed as the 30th National Night Out, which now involves over 37 million people and 15,000 communities from all over 50 states, U.S. Territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. River Paradise Mobile Estates will be hosting an event open to any resident of Oakdale. Last year's event was attended by nearly 250 Oakdale residents.
