Oakdale Mayor Pat Paul is seeking an interested Oakdale resident to serve on the Stanislaus Council of Governments (StanCOG) Citizens Advisory Committee. The committee is made up of 15 members from all the cities and unincorporated areas of Stanislaus County. Currently there is no representative from Oakdale.

The program, Rural PRIME for "PRograms In Medical Education," is designed to encourage third year medical students to select small communities as their first choice to practice medicine.

An anonymous tip received by Oakdale Police led officers to the Sonora area Tuesday, Feb. 1 to recover a 2004 Chevy truck that had been reported stolen 10 days ago in a residential burglary on River Bluff Drive that may be connected to the armed robbery that occurred at Cost Less Market Sunday evening, Jan. 30 around 10:40 p.m. where the bandits made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
