Gas Prices On The Rise Along With Temperatures

Average retail gasoline prices in Modesto have risen 12.6 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.95/gallon Sunday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 201 gas outlets in Modesto. This compares with the national average that has increased 2.1 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.35/gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

Delays Due On Roadways

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the eastbound and westbound State Route 4/Crosstown Freeway connector ramp to northbound Interstate 5 for construction work. Crews began work on Tuesday, May 23 and it will continue through Thursday, May 25, running from 10 p.m. until 4:30 a.m.

Irish Society Hosts Gathering For Eugene Commemoration

California Irish gathered for the first commemoration for the Great Irish Hunger on Saturday, May 20 at the California Irish Hunger Memorial, in Eugene, California. The newly installed memorial was dedicated last year to the Innocent Victims of the Irish Hunger. The Irish Cultural Society of Stanislaus County sponsored this year's event.
