Mustangs Clinch League Title With Road Baseball Win

For the first time under head coach Nate Gregory, the Oakdale High School varsity baseball team has won the Valley Oak League title.

Lady Mustangs Split Games In Valley Oak League Action

A roller coaster of emotions this past week for the Oakdale High School varsity girls softball team. On Wednesday, May 3 the girls (18-8, 9-4) went to Sierra High School in Manteca where they were shut out 2-0 by the Timberwolves (11-9, 10-4). Sierra's Lindsey Walljasper pitched a gem against Oakdale as the junior gave up one hit to Maddy Brewer, which was a triple. The Lady Mustangs struggled not just at the plate but on the defensive side as well.

Swimmers Battle VOL Rivals In League Meet

In the recent Valley Oak League championship swim meet, Oakdale's girls scored a total of 75 points to capture third place in league. Host Ripon High School took first place with a total of 148 points. For the boys Oakdale placed sixth overall with a total of 44 points, first place went to Manteca at 107.

Oakdale Golf Squad Falls To Raiders By One Stroke

The Oakdale Mustangs boys golf team went through the season with just one loss on their record. On Monday, May 1 the team placed second in the Valley Oak League Tournament to Central Catholic by one stroke. As a team, Oakdale shot 425, and Central Catholic won the tournament and the VOL while shooting a 424.

From now until the end of May our local fishing is at its best if you were to ask me. After that, there's still a lot of active fish to be caught. It just seems like this time of year is better than any other time. Especially for largemouth bass; the bass are in all three stages of the spawn right now making them easier to catch. Long Awaited Ring Ceremony For State Champions

It was five month ago that the Oakdale varsity football team returned home from La Jolla as the 2016 CIF Division III State Champions. The team humiliated the home team of Bishop's 47-0 on Dec. 17, 2016 and on Friday night, April 28, the players came together as championship rings were issued to the team.

Varsity Girls Tie For First, JV Squads Go Undefeated

For the 13th straight year the Oakdale varsity girls track and field team has won the Valley Oak League championship. The girls earned their unprecedented championship by knocking off Central Catholic on Thursday afternoon. Oakdale defeated Central Catholic 103-18 to improve to 7-1 in the standings. Oakdale tied with Sierra for a share of the league championship. Oakdale's lone loss came against Kimball on March 23 but since then they have dominated all opponents.

Mustang Tennis Team Wraps Up VOL Season

The 2017 boys tennis season came to a close for Oakdale in the Valley Oak League singles and doubles tournaments this past week. On Tuesday, April 25 Oakdale sent their singles competitors to Sierra High School for tournament play. Oakdale had a rough outing in the tournament where the boys went winless.

Varsity Softball Girls Score 47 Runs In Four Games

There were mixed emotions for this week for the Oakdale varsity softball team. On one hand the girls had three shutout victories that they won by a combined score of 43-0. On the other, they suffered a 5-4 road loss to Manteca and as a result, were swept by the Buffaloes this season.

Oakdale Golfers Finish Regular Season On Par

The Oakdale boys golf team finished their regular season with a nail-biting victory over East Union, defeating the Lancers 213-219 on Thursday, April 27. Oakdale finished tied for first place in the Valley Oak League standings but the championship was decided at the Valley Oak League Championship Tournament held at Sierra on Monday, May 1 following The Leader's press time.

Mustangs Sweep Sierra, Improve To 10-0 In League

A perfect 10. Through 10 Valley Oak League games, the Oakdale Mustangs varsity baseball team is 10-0 following a pair of wins against Sierra. On Tuesday, April 25 the team traveled to Manteca and topped defeat Sierra 11-0 and came back with a 15-3 lopsided home win on Thursday, April 27.
