The Oakdale varsity girls finished the 2016 season the same way they began it; on top. For over a decade, the varsity girls track and field team at Oakdale has dominated the Valley Oak League. On Saturday, May 7 the varsity girls placed first at the VOL Championships at Sierra High School in Manteca. Seven teams could not slow down the powerhouse program, as Oakdale's ladies scored a team total of 130 points. Kimball, with 104 points, came in second.
Freshman Lexi Webb was named the starting pitcher of the Oakdale varsity softball game, but it was the seniors who were front and center. Seniors Scarlett Brock, Kindra Hackbarth, Maddi Hackbarth, Cierra Duke, Emily Greenwood, Emery Sipe and Haley Fuller were all honored in an emotional pregame ceremony full of tears, laughs and decorations for Senior Day 2016.
The Oakdale Mustangs boys golf team turned in an impressive performance at the 2016 VOL Championship Tournament. The Mustangs, along with seven other teams in the Valley Oak League, traveled to Copperopolis for 18 holes at Saddle Creek Golf Course.
Monday night, May 2 was an emotional rollercoaster for the Oakdale High School varsity soccer girls. Prior to the team's must win game against visiting East Union, 10 senior Lady Mustangs were honored in the Senior Night 2016 pregame festivities. Seniors Natali Montoya, Bailey Antonio, Logan Laugero, Madison Feuerstein, Breanna Garza, Megan Burke, Ana Patricia Jacobo, Haley Dodd, Melissa Ibarra and Kaylee DeRuyter all suited up and played for the final time for the home crowd.
The hits, and wins, just keep coming for the Oakdale varsity Mustangs baseball team. Oakdale (17-6, 8-3) extended their impressive winning streak to eight after knocking off Central Catholic (13-10, 7-4) by a 4-1 final on Wednesday, May 4. This is the longest winning streak since the 2014 season when the team had won six straight league games.
Oakdale High School senior Trevor Williams is well known for his wrestling abilities. The senior is a four time CIF State Championship qualifier, and though his prep season and high school career may have ended earlier this year, Williams still hits the mats hard.

Oakdale's track and field teams turned in impressive performances against Central Catholic on Thursday, April 28 at home. Lopsided victories by all four levels of competition capped off the day for the Mustangs. In the process, Oakdale's varsity girls posted their 91st consecutive league win and even saw a new school record set on the day.
Oakdale hosted the 2016 Valley Oak League Swimming Championship on Saturday, April 30. Nine schools invaded the Oakdale Aquatic Center for the annual event. Oakdale's junior varsity girls took first place with a total of 111 points, 15 points over the second place Manteca Buffaloes. Oakdale's varsity girls team finished in third with a total of 90 points on the day, Ripon swam away with the competition at 164 points. The Mustang varsity boys posted a fifth place finish earning 40 points on the day.
Oakdale varsity boys basketball coach Hondo Arpoika and company are hosting a youth basketball camp this summer. From Tuesday, May 31 through Friday, June 3 students from third to ninth grade are invited to participate in the camp at the main gym at Oakdale High School. The camp will focus on offensive and defensive fundamentals along with scrimmages.
