Championships Decided At Auto Club Finals

With the Top Fuel and Pro Stock season Mello Yello Champions already decided by the completion of the NHRA Toyota Nationals one week earlier, Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle took center stage at the 51st annual Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona.

End Of The Road For Cross Country

Two Oakdale cross country hopefuls entered Willow Hill, Folsom on Saturday afternoon for the 2015-2016 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Cross Country finals. OHS junior Kristin Aguilar and sophomore Daniel Prado competed for their opportunity to continue on to the State Finals. During the 5K run, Aguilar finished in 43rd place with a time of 22:03.

Six Lady Mustangs Sign Letters Of Intent

Six sensational senior Oakdale High School student athletes have put ink to paper on their future. These Oakdale athletes have shined over the years in their respective sport and on Thursday, Nov. 12 they signed their Letters of Intent.

Stampede Scoreboard

The 2015 playoffs got underway Saturday, and the Oakdale Stampede took on the Turlock Bulldogs in the opening round. The varsity boys muzzled the Bulldogs in a 42-20 rout behind Minaya Olivo, Peyton Bradford and Steven Morris. Earlier in the regular season Oakdale dismantled Turlock 40-8. With the big win, Oakdale advances to the AFC championship game against the junior Buffaloes of Manteca.

Soccer Mustangs Use Extra Stanzas To Advance

The days are shorter and the jackets are being worn; that means the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section boys soccer playoffs are upon us. The defending Section champion Oakdale Mustangs entered the Division III tournament as the number two seed in the 16-team single elimination bracket. This past week Oakdale soccer fans were treated to a pair of nail-biting, overtime thrillers that resulted in the Mustangs advancing to the semi-finals against the third ranked Patterson Tigers, tonight (Wednesday, Nov. 11) at OHS. Game time is slated for 6:30 p.m.

Season Comes To Close For Boys Water Polo

The Mustangs entered the 2015-2016 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III boys Water Polo Championships as the number seven seed. Oakdale defeated Bear River 10-8 on Wednesday, Nov. 4 but took an exit from tournament play with a 7-4 loss to second-seeded El Capitan on Friday night, Nov. 6.

Lady Mustangs Advance To Semi-Finals

The two-time defending CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Champion girls water polo team is looking for a three peat, and are one step closer. After winning their sixth straight Valley Oak League title, the Lady Mustangs entered the 2015-2016 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section girls' water polo tournament as the three seed. The first obstacle in the Lady Mustangs way was the sixth seeded Golden Valley Cougars.

The road to a second straight blue banner has officially begun. The 2015-2016 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Football bracket was unveiled over the weekend. Following Friday night's slugfest with Central Catholic, Oakdale was named the number two seed in the 16-team tournament.

Central Catholic Sweeps Underclassmen

It was a tough week for Oakdale football as they took on Central Catholic in both freshman and junior varsity action. Thursday night the freshmen hosted the Raiders at The Corral. The Ponies took an early 7-0 lead that they took into the second quarter. However, the Raiders outscored the Mustangs 40-7 over the second and third quarters to take a 40-14 lead into the fourth quarter. Oakdale outscored Central Catholic 21-13 in the final frame but came up short 53-35 in the regular season finale.

Mustang Rally Falls Short At Central Catholic

"It ain't about how hard you can hit. It's about how hard you get hit, and keep moving forward." That inspirational quote is featured in the upcoming 'Creed' movie. Those words seemed especially fitting following Friday night's heavyweight bout between Oakdale and Central Catholic on the gridiron. Varsity Lady Mustangs Win VOL Volleyball Title

2015 was a huge success for the Oakdale Lady Mustangs volleyball club. The team went 14-0 in league play, resulting in their second consecutive Valley Oak League championship.

Colts Fall To Rival Buffaloes

Stampede Scoreboard

The Oakdale Stampede youth football teams held their regular season finale on Saturday, Oct. 30 at The Corral. Three of the Stampede clubs punched their ticket to the 2015 playoffs. The rookies, junior varsity and varsity teams all advanced to the playoffs and will host the Turlock Bulldogs on Saturday, Nov. 7. In the regular season finale, Oakdale junior varsity knocked off the Modesto Broncos 33-6. Touchdowns by Zeke Saffer and Kyle Redding helped the Stampede take the win. The peewee team fell 27-14 and the varsity took a 44-6 defeat.
