OHS Girls Claim 8th Consecutive VOL Track Title

Fantastic depth and strong individual performances from Oakdale High's varsity girls track team carried the program to yet another standout collective performance as the Mustang's edged VOL stalwart, Sierra, on April 26. The win carried Oakdale to an eighth straight conference title and incredible 58th straight conference dual meet win. Wrestlers Grapple To Second Place Showing In Bakersfield

Though still missing plenty of team members – continuing with their football season – the Oakdale High School wrestling team packed its gym bags and headed down south to Bakersfield for the weekend's annual Rumble for the Rig tournament. OHS claimed second place out of 20 top wrestling schools from throughout the state. Oakdale had many standouts including four first place finishers, a pair of second place finishers and three others finishing in the top five.

Varsity Football Mustangs Claim Share Of VOL Crown

On the final night of the 2014 regular season, it was a massive, standing room only crowd that gathered at The Corral to see the Mustangs honor the 25 seniors playing in their final home league game, as well as playing for a share of the Valley Oak League title. Oakdale welcomed Central Catholic, and what appeared to be close a thousand of their fans Friday night, Nov. 7. However, it was the home crowd that had the final roar as they watched their Mustangs thrive in a 48-28 victory.

Mustangs Fall To Sierra In VOL Showdown

With the Valley Oak League shaping up to be a three horse race (Sierra, Oakdale and Central Catholic) this late in the season, fans of both Oakdale and Sierra packed the bleachers at Sierra High School's "The Den" Friday night, Oct. 17 to see the Timberwolves host the Mustangs in a battle of the unbeatens. The fans were treated to a nailbiter that saw the home team escape with a 31-20 victory.
