The varsity Oakdale Mustangs opened the 2015 Valley Oak League season playing a home and home stand with the Manteca Buffaloes this past week. On Wednesday, March 18 the boys escaped with a wild 21-15 road win. Down 9-3 after three innings, Oakdale exploded with nine runs in the top half of the fourth and never looked back. Nolen Legan powered the Mustangs with his four hit, five RBI day. The Mustangs outscored the Buffaloes 18-6 in the final four innings of play.

Oak Valley Youth Softball Association (OVYSA) staged a clinic at Oakdale High School on Saturday, March 14 for their upcoming season. OVYSA begins their season on Saturday, March 21 at Oakdale's Kerr Park located at 840 N. Stearns Road. Opening ceremony is set for 9 a.m.
Oakdale's annual March Madness Invitational took place on Saturday, March 14 at the Oakdale High School Aquatic Center. Nine schools competed in numerous events during the morning and early afternoon non-scored invitational.
Seven Oakdale Mustangs packed their bags and headed to Bakersfield for the 43rd annual CIF State Meet on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7. OHS seniors Logan Eaton, Nico Colunga, Max Stevens and Frankie Trent, along with junior Trevor Williams, sophomore Abel Garcia and freshman Colbey Harlan all battled their way to Rabobank Arena. Each of them has battled it out since their first match of the season in November, through the Masters Meet in Stockton to get to this point, the sought-after State Meet competition.
The Mustang varsity baseball boys took the field on Saturday, March 7 when they hosted Cosumnes Oaks. Originally scheduled to be a double header, the teams played a single game where Cosumnes Oaks walked out victorious, 4-1.

The future appears bright for OHS girls' basketball, as the 2014-2015 junior varsity girls wrapped up the season undefeated with a perfect 14-0 Valley Oak League record. Led by second year head coach Julie Ford, the team bought into her coaching philosophy and put it to work on the court, showing up every day and practicing and playing hard and playing for each other. During the recent National Signing Day, several Oakdale High School student athletes made their most important decision to date: what school will they attend after graduation. Four student athletes made those choices and will continue their athletic as well as academic endeavors at the next level: Wyatt Hjelm, Nico Colunga, Ashley Arnett and Sydney Sudaria.
