Athlete of the Week - OHS Golf
Since the prep golf season has an early postseason, Oakdale High's boys golf team had the first chance of any Spring program on campus to secure a Sac-Joaquin Section title. They made the most of this opportunity on May 8 at the Division IV SJS Championships at the Diablo Grande Golf and Country Club in Patterson.
Jones Qualifies For NorCals
Oakdale High senior golfer Ryan Jones carded a 70-stroke performance at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton on Monday at the Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Championships. The effort allowed him to finish as the No. 2 individual to qualify for the NorCal Championships on May 21. Baseball Mustangs Still Unbeaten In VOL Play
The tumultuous Valley Oak League baseball schedule has battered seven of the eight league programs for at least five conference defeats and left a mess of potential playoff seeds as five programs remain in contention for the final two postseason qualifications with just one two-game series remaining.

Oakdale H.S. • Track & Field Oakdale High's sophomore talent, Kyle Peterson, hasn't waited long to continue the tradition of excellent Mustang track and field throwers like Tim House and Marco Camacho. Paterson heaved a 159 foot, 10 inch distance to win the Sacramento Meet of Champions and added a 160-2 toss to win a meet against Sonora just a few days later. After an undefeated Valley Oak League varsity girls title and a 5-2 showing from the varsity boys, Oakdale High's track and field program began the first step of a difficult postseason schedule by tackling a tough field of competitors at the VOL championships on May 5 at Sierra High.

Fantastic depth and strong individual performances from Oakdale High's varsity girls track team carried the program to yet another standout collective performance as the Mustang's edged VOL stalwart, Sierra, on April 26. Water Polo Girls Take Second In Section
Chasing a five-goal deficit in the fourth and final period of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II championships water polo finals, Katie Vanderburg and Emily Stolken connected with stunning scores within a one-minute span to open the door for a possible Oakdale High comeback.
Lady Mustangs Fall In Volleyball Playoffs
Some postseason magic carried eighth seeded Oakdale High to a spirited 3-1 rout of No. 9 seed Pioneer in the first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoffs on Nov. 6, but happy thoughts couldn't do the trick in a 3-0 loss to No. 1 seed Oakmont two days later.

The first round of the Sac-Joaquin Section Division II girls water polo playoffs wasn't particularly kind to Capital Valley Conference No. 3 seed Del Campo, who fell 17-7 to Valley Oak League champion Oakdale on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Whitney High.

If Oakdale High's varsity boys soccer team had any questions on the type of game to expect from a Central Valley team in search of its third trip to the Sac-Joaquin Section finals in four seasons, they certainly had them answered quickly on Oct. 30.
Tennis Goes Down In Court Battle
Despite the tiebreaker that forced the Lady Mustangs to enter the 2012 Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoffs with the lowest possible seed, Oakdale's girls tennis team didn't go down without a fight. They ended their season with a 5-4 loss to Whitney on Monday, Oct. 29 in the opening round of the postseason.
