Oakdale Brings The Heat For Softball Tournaments

Oakdale's travel softball organization, the Oakdale Heat, has had a busy and successful spring season. Since February, both the 10U and 12U teams have traveled to tournaments throughout the Central Valley, and their talent and team work has yielded big results.

Tennis Team Splits Foursome In VOL

A busy week saw the Oakdale Mustang tennis team on the court four times in as many days. Oakdale began the week on the road against Lathrop where they won 8-1 over the Spartans on Monday, April 10. Oakdale then clashed with Sierra on Tuesday, April 11 and came away with a 6-3 victory. The Mustangs then ran into a buzz saw in the Valley Oak League where they met with the top two teams in the league on Wednesday, April 12 falling to Central Catholic 2-7 and losing 9-0 on Thursday, April 13 to the Valley Oak League champions ...

First Place Varsity Mustangs Improve To 8-0 In VOL

Sitting in first place, currently on top of the Valley Oak League, are the Oakdale varsity Mustangs baseball team. But getting there hasn't come easily. This past week Oakdale (15-2, 8-0) faced off against Weston Ranch (9-7, 1-4) in a home and away series. It took three days to get through the two contests, with the first game suspended due to darkness on Tuesday, April 11 as the Mustangs hosted the Cougars. East Union Blanks Oakdale In Varsity Softball Action

It was a disappointing performance by the Oakdale Lady Mustangs varsity softball team in their highly anticipated showdown with East Union, as the host Lady Lancers shut out Oakdale 5-0.

The Corral has always been an eye catcher and now it has a little more aesthetic appeal. This past week Oakdale High School unveiled its new electronic Nevco scoreboard, which will serve the football team for many years to come. With half of the funds coming from the Oakdale High School Sports Boosters Club and the rest from the district, fans on both sides of the stands will be able to enjoy the new scoreboard.

Varsity Mustang Golfers Win Sixth Straight Match

The Oakdale Mustangs boy golfers are coming off an outstanding week and sit at 12-1 at the Spring Break. Oakdale knocked off Sierra and Kimball this past week and are currently tied for first place in the Valley Oak League.

Varsity Softball Girls Corral Timberwolves In VOL Action

In their first home game since being shocked by and falling to Manteca, Oakdale's varsity softball girls defeated visiting Sierra 9-1 on Wednesday, April 5. The Lady Mustangs combined for seven hits and committed no errors in the win.

Oakdale Dominates East Union In April 6 Meet At Corral

Thursday, April 6 Oakdale hosted East Union and the track and field Mustangs made short work of the Lancers. The varsity girls defeated East Union 100-36, the varsity boys won in a lopsided 117-15 decision, and the junior varsity boys and girls took care of business as well.

The hits and wins just keep coming for the Oakdale Mustangs varsity baseball team. This past week Oakdale improved to 6-0 in Valley Oak League play after defeating the Lathrop Spartans (3-8-1, 0-3) in a two-game series.
