Mustangs Pluck The Eagles In First Round

Thursday night football kicked off the 2017 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III playoffs. Inside The Corral, the top seeded Oakdale Mustangs defeated the number 16 seed McNair Eagles 56-12. McNair finished the season with a 5-5 record overall and went 3-2 in the San Joaquin Athletic Association.

Saturday, Nov. 11 the Oakdale Stampede clashed with the Ceres Seahawks in the AFC Championship Game. The two teams have been rivals over recent seasons and this year was no different. The 2017 CenCal Youth Football League AFC Championship contest featured the top seeded Seahawks taking on the second seeded Stampede at Ceres High School.

These five athletes have worked hard over the last four years both in the classroom and their respective sports. Lady Mustangs Eliminated From Water Polo Playoffs

It has been a roller coaster week for the varsity girl's water polo team. The team entered the 2017 Sac-Joaquin Section Championships as the eighth seed in Division I. On Halloween night the girls hosted the ninth seeded Jaguars of Gregori in the opening round where Oakdale won 11-5. Coming off the high of the first round victory the girls took on top seeded Davis on Thursday night. Davis played like the top seed and defeated Oakdale 18-2.

Stampede Scoreboard

Saturday, Nov. 4 the Oakdale Stampede hosted the 2017 CenCal Youth Football playoffs. The second seed varsity Stampede eliminated the three seed, Turlock Bulldogs, with a 40-0 victory. The second seeded Stampede will take on the top seed Ceres Seahawks on Saturday, Nov. 11. Ceres is coming off a 40-0 victory of their own as they blanked the Thunder. The AFC Divisional Championship will take place at Ceres High School. Earlier in the year, Ceres defeated Oakdale 24-14 for Oakdale's lone loss of the season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
