Hoplite Fights Production Next Event Slated Dec. 5

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) action returns to the Merced County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Dec. 5. The event will feature Welterweight Champion Brit "Boogeyman" Lippincott taking on Jacobo Longoria in the main event. This event features some of the most talented, dedicated MMA athletes in the area. In July of 2015 the four-hour hard hitting event sold out, so don't be left out this time. Soccer Hardware Handed Out To Mustang Varsity, JV Players

Oakdale's 2015 high school soccer season came to a close in the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Finals on Nov. 14, and the Mustang squads met for the final time for their end of the season banquet and awards ceremony shortly thereafter. Players, coaches, parents and fans gathered at the OHS cafeteria on Tuesday night, Nov. 17 to celebrate both the junior varsity and varsity teams.

Stampede Scoreboard

The Oakdale Stampede varsity team traveled to Atwater High School as AFC champs to take on the NFC champion Modesto Broncos for the 2015 Super Bowl crown. Oakdale fell short in the championship quest as the Broncos corralled the Stampede, 44-30. Oakdale's Minaya Olivo scored two touchdowns, and teammates Steven Morris and Peyton Bradford also found the end zone for Oakdale in the season finale.

Big First Half Lands Mustangs In Semifinals

A much different Oakdale football team took the field Friday night than the week before. In the team's first round game football playoff game against El Dorado on Nov. 13, the Mustangs struggled on defense, giving up 33 points, and looked out of sync on a few of their offensive possessions. Seven days later, Oakdale returned to their dominant form on both sides of the ball. Oakdale hung 42 first half points on the scoreboard in their 42-14 quarterfinal victory over visiting Benicia on Nov. 20.

Soccer Mustangs Fall In Section Finals

In a much anticipated finals showdown, the number one seeded Weston Ranch Cougars took on the second seeded and defending Section champion Oakdale Mustangs on Saturday, Nov. 14 at Stockton's Stagg High School. The 2015 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division III Boys Soccer showdown featured the two Valley Oak League representatives, champion Weston Ranch and league runner ups Oakdale, who defeated the Cougars twice during the regular season, but came up on the wrong side of a 2-0 score Saturday.

Varsity Stampede Heading To Super Bowl Saturday

With a convincing 27-8 victory over Manteca in the AFC Championship game, Oakdale's varsity Stampede is heading to the Super Bowl. Minaya Olivo set the tone for Oakdale with a 70-yard opening kickoff return for a quick 7-0 lead for the Stampede. Oakdale never looked back as Peyton Bradford and Olivo tallied up the team's touchdowns to lead the team to the Super Bowl. Oakdale will clash with the Modesto Broncos on Saturday, Nov. 21 at Atwater High School with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.

Volleyball Girls Get Bumped From Tourney

The 2015 volleyball season was a successful one for the Oakdale Lady Mustangs. The team went 14-0 in league play, winning the Valley Oak League title for the second consecutive season. A 14-0 record had not been achieved since the 2006 season under head coach Shelli Ponce. Oakdale clinched their title with three games remaining in the season, and it was the team's third title in four seasons. Third Blue Banner For Girls Water Polo

Playing in their fifth consecutive CIF Sac-Joaquin Division II Girls Water Polo Section Championship game, the Oakdale Lady Mustangs knocked off Del Oro 5-4 on Saturday to win their third consecutive blue banner.

Championships Decided At Auto Club Finals

With the Top Fuel and Pro Stock season Mello Yello Champions already decided by the completion of the NHRA Toyota Nationals one week earlier, Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle took center stage at the 51st annual Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona.

End Of The Road For Cross Country

Two Oakdale cross country hopefuls entered Willow Hill, Folsom on Saturday afternoon for the 2015-2016 CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Cross Country finals. OHS junior Kristin Aguilar and sophomore Daniel Prado competed for their opportunity to continue on to the State Finals. During the 5K run, Aguilar finished in 43rd place with a time of 22:03.

Six sensational senior Oakdale High School student athletes have put ink to paper on their future. These Oakdale athletes have shined over the years in their respective sport and on Thursday, Nov. 12 they signed their Letters of Intent.

Stampede Scoreboard

The 2015 playoffs got underway Saturday, and the Oakdale Stampede took on the Turlock Bulldogs in the opening round. The varsity boys muzzled the Bulldogs in a 42-20 rout behind Minaya Olivo, Peyton Bradford and Steven Morris. Earlier in the regular season Oakdale dismantled Turlock 40-8. With the big win, Oakdale advances to the AFC championship game against the junior Buffaloes of Manteca.
