Wrestlers Grapple To Second Place Showing In Bakersfield

Though still missing plenty of team members – continuing with their football season – the Oakdale High School wrestling team packed its gym bags and headed down south to Bakersfield for the weekend's annual Rumble for the Rig tournament. OHS claimed second place out of 20 top wrestling schools from throughout the state. Oakdale had many standouts including four first place finishers, a pair of second place finishers and three others finishing in the top five.

Mustangs Ground Eagles, Advance To Semifinals

The Oakdale Mustangs welcomed Vista Del Lago this past Friday night to The Corral with the winner advancing to the semifinals of the 2014 Sac Joaquin Section Championship in Division III. Oakdale pulled away in the fourth quarter of the Nov. 21 contest to win 42-14 and keep their season alive.

Banner Boys – Varsity Soccer Squad Claims Section Championship

Taking down the top seed on Saturday, the Oakdale varsity Mustangs brought home the coveted blue banner, winning the Sac-Joaquin Section Division III soccer title over Christian Brothers.

Varsity Football Mustangs Claim Share Of VOL Crown

On the final night of the 2014 regular season, it was a massive, standing room only crowd that gathered at The Corral to see the Mustangs honor the 25 seniors playing in their final home league game, as well as playing for a share of the Valley Oak League title. Oakdale welcomed Central Catholic, and what appeared to be close a thousand of their fans Friday night, Nov. 7. However, it was the home crowd that had the final roar as they watched their Mustangs thrive in a 48-28 victory.

Soccer Squad Rolls - Mustangs Advance To Semifinals In CIF Section Tournament

Soccer Squad Second In Valley Oak League

The Oakdale Mustangs varsity soccer team will be making its return to the CIF Sac-Joaquin Sections playoffs. Oakdale finished the 2014 regular season on the road this week, falling to the undefeated Weston Ranch Cougars 2-1 and then rebounded with a 4-1 victory over winless Central Catholic.

Mustangs Fall To Sierra In VOL Showdown

With the Valley Oak League shaping up to be a three horse race (Sierra, Oakdale and Central Catholic) this late in the season, fans of both Oakdale and Sierra packed the bleachers at Sierra High School's "The Den" Friday night, Oct. 17 to see the Timberwolves host the Mustangs in a battle of the unbeatens. The fans were treated to a nailbiter that saw the home team escape with a 31-20 victory.

Varsity Soccer Squad Corrals Buffaloes In Road Win

With playoffs looming, the Oakdale Mustangs varsity boys soccer team needed to make a big push this week. The team entered the week in third place in the Valley Oak League standings. Oakdale hosted Central Catholic and then went on the road to face the Buffaloes of Manteca in a crucial VOL showdown. The Mustangs stood tall and answered the challenge by blanking the Raiders 9-0 and earning a tough 5-2 road victory in Manteca, winning both games for the week.

Record-Setting Day - Mustangs Rein In Levi’s Stadium Win Over Buffaloes

In the inaugural Friday Night Lights high school football series at Santa Clara's Levi's Stadium, two of the premier Valley Oak League contenders clashed on Saturday, Oct. 11 as the Oakdale Mustangs battled it out with the Manteca Buffaloes. Not only did the Mustangs win, the victory saw a record-setting effort, as Mustang senior Frankie Trent scored six touchdowns and rushed for over 200 yards, setting a Levi's Stadium record.
