Mustangs Take Championship At Gregori Tournament

The defending Sac-Joaquin Section champion Oakdale Mustangs varsity soccer boys are on the right track after an impressive week. Although Oakdale dropped a game to visiting Franklin 2-0, they regrouped and earned a 5-2 home win over Livingston and finished the week by winning the Gregori Tournament over the weekend.

Oakdale Soccer Competes Well In Pitman Tournament

The defending Sac-Joaquin Section champion boys soccer team wrapped up a busy week on the field. The boys played a pair of road scrimmage games against Enochs and Beyer High School, then took their act on the road in the two-day Pitman Tournament over the weekend.

Mustangs Of Fall Wrap Up Scrimmage Play

Numerous Oakdale Mustang teams suited up for final tune-up games before entering league play. The girl's tennis team took on Enochs and Turlock in scrimmage matches that took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Lady Mustangs hosted Enochs before traveling to Turlock the following day. The girls team opened league play when they traveled Weston Ranch on Tuesday, Sept. 1 after The Leader's press time. Oakdale hosts its first home match on Thursday, Sept. 3 against East Union at 3:30 p.m.

Mustang Scrimmages Kick Off Campaign

School is back in session, fall is almost upon us and many of the OHS Mustangs teams are gearing up for the 2015 season. Oakdale's football, volleyball, cross country, tennis and soccer teams were all involved in scrimmages and tournament play this past week.

OHS Senior Nelson Determined Injury Won’t Bring Him Down

During his final days of summer break, incoming Oakdale High School senior Darus Nelson spent plenty of time running the track around the Corral. Nelson, starting running back for the defending Sac-Joaquin Section champion Mustangs, is coming off a major knee injury that required offseason surgery.

Football Mustangs Host 7 On 7 Drills

Friday night football under the lights may still be several weeks away, but the Oakdale Mustangs got a taste of what is to come when the squad hosted seven-on-seven drills on Wednesday evening, July 1. Oakdale welcomed Waterford and Mountain House football teams to The Corral. All three football teams worked on both offense and defensive drills during the two-hour time frame, having each team rotate in and out after approximately 15 plays each on both sides of the ball.

Lady Mustangs Earn Pair of VOL Wins

Head coach Larry Loger and his varsity softball girls are reminding teams why they're the defending Sac-Joaquin Section champions. The Lady Mustangs improved to 15-7 overall and more importantly 7-1 in league play after an 8-5 road victory over Kimball and an 18-0 shellacking of winless Weston Ranch on Thursday, April 16 at home.

Mustang Baseball Teams See Spring Break Action

Mustangs Keep Up Hectic Pace For Track, Field

On top of their Valley Oak League meet against Sierra on Thursday, March 26, the best of the best in high school varsity track and field came out to The Corral on Friday, March 27 for the annual County vs. County meet. Eighteen schools from both Stanislaus and Merced counties competed under the hot Oakdale early spring sun.

OHS Baseball Splits Two Wild Games With Manteca

The varsity Oakdale Mustangs opened the 2015 Valley Oak League season playing a home and home stand with the Manteca Buffaloes this past week. On Wednesday, March 18 the boys escaped with a wild 21-15 road win. Down 9-3 after three innings, Oakdale exploded with nine runs in the top half of the fourth and never looked back. Nolen Legan powered the Mustangs with his four hit, five RBI day. The Mustangs outscored the Buffaloes 18-6 in the final four innings of play.

Oak Valley Youth Softball Association (OVYSA) staged a clinic at Oakdale High School on Saturday, March 14 for their upcoming season. OVYSA begins their season on Saturday, March 21 at Oakdale's Kerr Park located at 840 N. Stearns Road. Opening ceremony is set for 9 a.m.
