With the Aquatic Center at OHS out of commission for the time being, the varsity boys and girls water polo clubs hosted their home games against Central Catholic at the Oakdale Plunge (community pool) on Monday, Oct. 19. Both teams swam away from the competition as the girls took care of business first with a convincing 13-3 win, followed by a 17-5 victory for the boys.
The Oakdale varsity soccer boys are back in second place after falling to third on Oct. 16. Since then the boys faced off with East Union and Kimball, winning one and tying one to get back into second place in the competitive Valley Oak League.
Oakdale's junior varsity football team continues to tear through the Valley Oak League as Weston Ranch became the latest to fall prey to Oakdale. The Colts defeated the home Cougars 41-6 on Friday night.
The Oakdale varsity Mustangs football team improved to a perfect 5-0 in the Valley Oak League (VOL) standings after blasting Weston Ranch 58-20 in Stockton. On Friday night, Oct. 23 the Mustangs went into Stockton and declawed the Cougars on their Senior Night.

A battle of Valley Oak League unbeaten squads took the spotlight on Friday, night, Oct. 16 when East Union hosted Oakdale in a junior varsity showdown. Oakdale went into Dino Cunial Field and was not intimidated by the Lancers, as Oakdale knocked off the previously unbeaten Lancers 28-0.
Away from The Corral for only the second time this season, the varsity football Mustangs battled the East Union Lancers on Friday night, Oct. 16. The Mustangs used a 33-0 run that began in the second quarter to help pull away from the Lancers 40-14 at Dino Cunial Field.
The Oakdale Stampede football teams hosted the Turlock Bulldogs on Saturday, Oct. 17 at The Corral. Oakdale's peewee team fell 27-6 but has improved over the course of the season. The junior varsity team suffered a tough loss as Turlock scored a touchdown with less than two minutes to play to take a 20-18 lead, which was ultimately the final score. When the week started, the varsity Oakdale Mustangs boys soccer club was in first place of the Valley Oak League. By the end of the week, Oakdale sat in second place, just one game behind first place Weston Ranch. Oakdale (14-4-4, 7-1-2) defeated the winless Lathrop Spartans 5-0 on the road Monday, Oct. 12. The Mustangs firepower ran out, however, when they fell to Sierra, 2-1, two nights later.
Tracy's Eagle Lakes hosted the cross country Valley Oak League (VOL) #2 meet on Tuesday, Oct. 6. All eight of the VOL schools showed up and battled it out in six different races. Oakdale's frosh and sophomore girls' team finished 6-1 in the two mile run with top finishers Bailee Garcia, Dahlia Flores and Kaitlyn Dickson finishing within 17 seconds of each other. As a team, Oakdale went 11-3 on the day and tied for first with Lathrop.
The tradition of gridiron greatness continues at The Corral as Oakdale punched its postseason ticket with a 49-14 victory over Lathrop. To cap off a busy Homecoming Week, the Mustangs (6-0; 3-0) dominated the visiting Spartans (3-3; 1-2).

Homecoming Week at Oakdale High School was full of teen and team spirit. Wednesday night, Oct. 7 the junior and senior female students treated fans to action in the annual Powder Puff football game at The Corral.
