Lady Mustangs Earn Wins In League Play

As we approach the tail end of the 2015 fall sports season, the Oakdale girls finished the week strong on several fronts. Girl's golf, tennis, volleyball and water polo all got in the win column this past week.

Second VOL Meet Sees Strong Mustang Performances

Tracy's Eagle Lakes hosted the cross country Valley Oak League (VOL) #2 meet on Tuesday, Oct. 6. All eight of the VOL schools showed up and battled it out in six different races. Oakdale's frosh and sophomore girls' team finished 6-1 in the two mile run with top finishers Bailee Garcia, Dahlia Flores and Kaitlyn Dickson finishing within 17 seconds of each other. As a team, Oakdale went 11-3 on the day and tied for first with Lathrop.

Mustangs Clinch Playoff Berth In Rout Over Lathrop

The tradition of gridiron greatness continues at The Corral as Oakdale punched its postseason ticket with a 49-14 victory over Lathrop. To cap off a busy Homecoming Week, the Mustangs (6-0; 3-0) dominated the visiting Spartans (3-3; 1-2).

Freshman Football: Ponies Declaw Jags

The freshman football Ponies earned a home victory over the Kimball Jaguars on Thursday, Oct. 1 at the Corral. Oakdale's 48-22 win improved the team's league record to 1-1.

Leo Camarillo Recognized On Hall Of Fame Weekend

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum hosted its Rodeo Hall of Fame Weekend on Friday, Sept. 25 and Saturday, Sept. 26 celebrating rodeo legends being inducted into the Rodeo Hall of Fame, as well as Ben Johnson Memorial Award and Tad Lucas Memorial Award recipients. Since 1955, cowboys and cowgirls have been inducted the Rodeo hall of Fame at the Museum, home to the world's largest national rodeo collection.

Lady Mustangs Impressive In League Play

As the calendar turns and the leaves fall from the trees, the Oakdale Lady Mustangs push through the competition this fall. Oakdale's volleyball, girls tennis and girls golf teams were in action recently and pieced together a successful week.

Back On Track: Soccer Boys Win Pair

After last week's puzzling two game ties, the Mustang varsity boys soccer team turned it around with a pair of Valley Oak League (VOL) victories this week. Oakdale knocked off Kimball and Weston Ranch to improve to an 11-2-4 overall record, 4-0-2 in league play.

Oakdale Knocks Out Kimball In VOL Play

Friday night, Oct. 2, the Oakdale Mustangs football team found themselves in unfamiliar territory: away from The Corral. In the team's first road game of the 2015 season, Oakdale went into Tracy and defeated Kimball 38-7.

Lady Mustangs Volleyball “Killing” It In League

Under first year head coach Heather Gonzales, the OHS Lady Mustang Varsity girls' volleyball club is off to a perfect 3-0 Valley Oak League (VOL) start. Also around campus, the girl's tennis teams split a pair of games and the girl's golf team also hit the links this week in a busy week for Lady Mustang team sports.

Miscues Doom Mustang Soccer

After a brilliant start to the season, the Oakdale Mustang varsity boys soccer team took a step back this week. On the road for a pair of Valley Oak League games, the defending Sac-Joaquin Section champions walked away with a pair of head scratching 2-2 ties against Sierra and East Union.

Mustangs Rout Sierra In VOL Opener

In a highly anticipated league opener, the Oakdale Mustangs hosted the Sierra Timberwolves on Friday night, Sept. 25. After trailing 14-12 late in the first quarter, the Mustangs outscored Sierra 42-0 the rest of the way to claim a 54-14 home victory at The Corral.

Mustang Soccer Off To 2-0 League Start

League play has begun and the defending Sac Joaquin Section champion Mustangs have picked up where they left off in 2014. Oakdale finished the preseason with an impressive 7-2-2 record and opened the regular season against Manteca and with a home game against Lathrop. The Mustangs put away Manteca 6-1 and followed up with a victory over the Spartans 6-0.

Bennett, McKeon Lead Lady Mustangs To Victory

The Oakdale Lady Mustangs water polo team hosted Lodi in a non-league game Tuesday, Sept. 15. Led by the junior tandem of Emily Bennett and Clare McKeon, the defending Sac Joaquin Section champions put away Lodi 13-8.

VOL Meet Takes Over Legion Park

Valley Oak League runners invaded Modesto's Legion Park on Tuesday, Sept. 15 for the VOL #1 Meet. The meet featured all eight VOL cross country teams, from frosh to varsity. Although no individual results were kept, Oakdale brought a strong presence to the meet.
