During the recent National Signing Day, several Oakdale High School student athletes made their most important decision to date: what school will they attend after graduation. Four student athletes made those choices and will continue their athletic as well as academic endeavors at the next level: Wyatt Hjelm, Nico Colunga, Ashley Arnett and Sydney Sudaria.

The OHS wrestling team hosted a Valley Oak League double dual meet on Wednesday, Jan. 14, as visitors Kimball and Sierra came to town to take on the Mustangs.
After a lackluster performance on Tuesday, Jan. 13 against visiting Weston Ranch, the Oakdale varsity basketball boys saddled up and put on their best performance of the young season. Coming off the embarrassing 68-23 home loss against Weston Ranch, Oakdale gathered its first Valley Oak League win of the campaign with a 66-55 home win over East Union on Thursday, Jan. 15.

The 45th annual Oakdale Rotary Classic came to a close on Monday night, Dec. 29. The three-day basketball tournament featured eight local schools, including the host school Mustangs. Oakdale's varsity boys finished the tournament with a record of 1-2. The Mustangs fell to Hughson in the first round Friday night, bounced back to defeat Los Banos on Saturday, and then fell to Grace Davis in the consolation game on Monday night, 71-63.
