Fishing Tournament Saturday

San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation and the Delta Fly Fishers will present the 13th Annual Bob McMillen Memorial Fishing Tournament on Saturday, March 5 at Oak Grove Regional Park in Stockton. Open to all ages.

Oakdale Golf Boys Swing Into Action

The Mustang boys golf team teed off the preseason with match play against their former league rival, Sonora. The two teams met at Mountain Spring Golf Course to play nine holes. Oakdale came out on top with a 204-228 victory. Sophomore David Myrtakis sat on top of the leaderboard with an impressive 37. Not far behind Myrtakis were his teammates Calvin Reed (40); Greg Wikoff (41) and Zackary Tamburrino (41). Tristan Jaramillo carded a 45 and Cole Liekhus finished the day at 51.

Five Mustang Wrestlers Heading To State

For a handful of Oakdale varsity Mustang wrestlers, the dream of becoming a CIF State Meet qualifier became a reality this weekend. Oakdale sent eight wrestlers to the Stockton Arena for the 2016 Sac-Joaquin Section Masters Championship for two days of high school wrestling action, and out of the hundreds of the section's most talented, by the end of the day on Saturday, Feb. 27 the elite from the section punched their tickets to next weekend's State Championship in Bakersfield.

Multiple Mustang Teams On The Rise

Over the last three months, Mustang sports fans have made their way into the school's main gym to watch the winter sports of wrestling and basketball. Now that the sun is out, and the skies are clearing up, Oakdale fans will soon be able to make their way back outside to enjoy several spring sports, as student athletes look to close out the school year with a final sports season.

Lady Mustangs Wrap Up Season

Oakdale's varsity hardwood girls finished the 2015-2016 season on hard times. In what was a once promising season under first year varsity head coach Julie Ford, the team finished the season on an 11-game losing streak. The squad finished the season at East Union where Oakdale lost 52-38.

Clinic Hosted For Youth Baseball Boys

The Oakdale High School Mustangs baseball teams hosted a baseball clinic for young players this past week. An estimated 70 youth baseball players from the ages of 9- to 14-years-old took part in the two day clinic staged at the OHS varsity Mustang baseball field. Members of all three high school baseball teams volunteered to help the youngsters prior to the Oakdale Baseball Softball Association (OBSA) season start.

Mustang Boys Close Hoops Campaign

Oakdale's varsity boys basketball season of struggle came to a close on Wednesday, Feb. 17. The boys headed to East Union for their 2015-2016 season finale. Oakdale (1-26, 0-14) fell to East Union (12-14, 4-10) by a final score of 68-37.

Oakdale Sends Nine Wrestlers To Masters

In a two day tournament featuring 21 schools in the CIF Sac Joaquin Section Division III, the Oakdale Mustangs not only hosted the event, they dominated it. Eight Oakdale wrestlers were represented in the finals on Saturday, Feb. 20 and nine total Mustang wrestlers will be advancing to CIF Sac Joaquin Section Masters at Stockton Arena next weekend.
